Death is not a distant event but a foundational presence, buried deep like a root beneath all action, choice, and desire. Every gesture of living is shaped in response to it: love becomes urgent, fear becomes cyclical, and meaning becomes fragile.

We grow, strive, and create not despite death, but because of it, drawing purpose from the very thing that will undo us. In “Root,” life is revealed as an act of continual negotiation with the inevitable, where to exist is to already be entangled with the certainty of dying.
