Paracosm
Paracosm: a detailed, sustained, and complex imaginary world created during childhood or adulthood.
As a child, imagination was an entire inner world that felt more vivid, more consuming, than the one outside. There was a sense of being watched, judged, and misunderstood, as if creativity itself were something to be embarrassed by.
Having such a vivid imagination made me feel like a clown because I wasn’t paying attention to reality and would often seem dumber than I was. This drawing is about how being creative can feel very clownish.
